Rescue at Central

Do these trump even the previous post? Took them on my way to Chinatown this morning where I went in successful pursuit of a $15 card reader.

This caught my eye.

Woman rescued from stuck lift.

Baby restored to granny.

We sometimes bitch about the cops, but without them life would be rather difficult, don’t you think?

  1. Not clear how much of the rescue function actually needs to be carried out by police, though at a generalist level it is probably true that the police are the nearest and best-equipped agent of the state in many situations, particularly in remote areas. Meanwhile, back in the city, why not just: “Rescue service”? Or, if it has to be part of something else, Fire Brigade or Ambulance Rescue service?
